“Don’t let your struggle become your identity.” – Unknown
#worldmentalhealthday2020 will be commemorated on the 10th of October. I was hosted by MaryAnne Mwaura on Activate Women in Leadership Africa‘s #gemsandnuggets podcast for a special episode to mark this day.
Many of us are experiencing the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 that has also impacted on the mental health of millions of people. Each of us can make a contribution to ensure that people dealing with problems concerning #mentalhealth can live better lives with dignity.
Asim reminds us that taking steps to look after your #mentalwellbeing can help you deal with pressure, and reduce the impact that stress has on your life.
#Resilience is another term commonly used in relation to positive mental health which refers to the ability for hardiness, flexibility and strength ; your capacity to adapt in the face of challenging circumstances, whilst maintaining a stable mental wellbeing.
As we commemorate this day what are you doing to bring in more light, openness & unashamed conversation on this very important issue? As a start lets reach out & check in with our family, friends & colleagues. Listen in
