Leading with Depression is about Asim’s journey from clinical depression to who and what he is now. The title of the book was known even before the thought of writing came about. Asim had a nervous breakdown in his late twenties and was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety. In the process of recovery, he ended up in various leadership roles despite being unable to get out of bed on some days.
Kept in Asim’s voice and tone, the book is easy on the eye but heavy on the heart. He expresses his thoughts about organisational leadership candidly and gives us glimpses of our own emotions of experiences that we might be too afraid to look at again.
He weaves his process of recovery from depression through the narrative leaving us with hope that all is not lost when depression clouds someone’s heart and mind. And he is now available to help when leaders and organisations are in need.
