2019 Rhino Charge – Day 3 & 4

Day 3 of #rhinocharge is already a blur and Day 4 was the day of realisations. I missed a post because it’s getting busy now and last 2 nights I have probably slept a total of 8 hours. Tarpo team have been working into the night because day time temperatures are ridiculous and deceiving. Day 4 was possibly 41 degrees (I did say the venue is in Magadi!). The venue is prepared to open gates for competitors and sponsors this morning – I’m guessing a queue of over 100 vehicles has built up overnight at the 6pm barrier.

The last few days have been a constellation in play and I got the realisations in the last 2 days. Certain things have ‘refused’ to happen until something shifts and then it happens without hitches – if you want to know what I’m talking about come experience it during the Wild SoulSafari that we’re doing in sheltership with Kuunganisha Training en Coaching.

The dust is beginning to settle at the back of my throat but I think masala chai in the bush will sort that out quickly! And a mandazi. But mandazi won’t help with the sun burn and the scratches from all the 3 inch thorns. This morning we set up the The Oasis tents, the kids zone and the layout for scrutineering. A small number of check point officials arrive and they will start to understand the immense task that has been upon Don and his team this year – it has been challenging to say the least. I’m also excited to see Jana Hajduchová today… Until yesterday she believed me about Magadi ?

I hope today is a somewhat early night….! Oh and there are elephants in the camping area.
